01 Acceptance of Terms

Agreement to These Terms

By accessing or using Looslee ("the Service," "we," "us," "our") at any domain or URL where it is hosted, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be legally bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

If you are using the Service on behalf of a company or organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity to these Terms, and "you" refers to that entity.

Minimum Age

You must be at least 13 years of age to use Looslee. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If we learn that a user is under 13, we will take steps to remove associated data immediately.

02 Description of Service

What Looslee Does

Looslee is an encrypted file transfer conduit. It allows users to upload files that are encrypted client-side in the browser, temporarily stored, and made available for download via a one-time self-destructing link. Files are automatically deleted after the first download or when the chosen expiry time elapses — whichever comes first.

Looslee is a passive intermediary. We transmit and temporarily store files in encrypted form only. We do not inspect, moderate, access, or otherwise process the contents of files. We are a conduit — not a publisher, editor, or host of user content in any meaningful sense.

Service Availability

The Service is provided on an "as available" basis. We make no guarantees regarding uptime, performance, speed, or availability at any given time. The Service may be interrupted, modified, suspended, or terminated at any time without notice, for any reason, including but not limited to maintenance, infrastructure failures, external provider incidents, or business decisions.

03 Acceptable Use

Your Responsibility

You are solely and entirely responsible for any files you upload, share, or download using Looslee. You assume all risk associated with the content you send and receive. Looslee bears no responsibility whatsoever for what you choose to transfer.

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes, in compliance with all applicable local, national, and international laws and regulations. You agree not to use the Service in any way that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair Looslee's infrastructure or interfere with any other party's use of the Service.

Consent and Authorisation

By uploading any file or data, you represent and warrant that:

04 Prohibited Content

What You Must Not Share

The following content is strictly prohibited on Looslee:

DMCA / Copyright Takedown

If you believe that materials available through Looslee infringe your copyright, you may submit a takedown request. Due to the encrypted and ephemeral nature of the Service, file contents cannot be inspected. However, we will do our best to act on verified, good-faith notices.

To submit a takedown request, please contact us at the address listed in Section 15 with the following information: (1) identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed; (2) identification of the infringing link or transfer ID; (3) your name, address, telephone number, and email; (4) a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorised; (5) a statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are authorised to act on behalf of the copyright owner.

05 No Warranty

Service Provided "As Is"

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LOOSLEE EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that: (a) the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, or error-free; (b) files will be delivered or received successfully; (c) the Service is free from viruses or harmful components; (d) any defects will be corrected. No advice or information — whether oral or written — obtained from Looslee creates any warranty not expressly stated here.

No SLA, No Uptime Guarantee

There is no Service Level Agreement (SLA) of any kind. We make no commitment to any specific level of uptime, availability, performance, or response time. Planned or unplanned outages may occur at any time. If a file is lost because the Service was unavailable, Looslee is not liable.

06 Limitation of Liability

No Liability for Losses

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL LOOSLEE, ITS OPERATORS, AFFILIATES, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, LOSS OF GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION.

This includes, without limitation: (a) loss or corruption of files you upload or download; (b) unauthorised access to your files by third parties; (c) service outages at any level of the infrastructure, including third-party storage providers; (d) any security incident outside our reasonable control.

Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the greater of (i) the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (ii) zero, since the Service is currently provided free of charge.

Third-Party Storage Providers

Looslee relies on third-party storage infrastructure to hold encrypted file data temporarily. These providers — including but not limited to cloud storage, object storage, or messaging-based storage services — may experience outages, data loss, corruption, or security incidents entirely outside Looslee's control. Looslee accepts no liability for any loss, damage, or breach arising from the actions or failures of these providers.

07 Indemnification

You Indemnify Us

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Looslee and its operators, affiliates, employees, and agents from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to: (a) your use of the Service; (b) any content you upload, share, or download; (c) your violation of these Terms; (d) your violation of any applicable law or the rights of any third party.

This obligation survives the termination of these Terms and your use of the Service.

08 Privacy

How We Handle Your Data

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. The Privacy Policy explains what minimal data we collect, how it is used, and how long it is retained.

In short: files are client-side encrypted before upload, temporarily stored in encrypted form, and deleted after download or expiry. We do not use tracking cookies or sell your data to third parties.

09 Intellectual Property

Looslee's IP

The Looslee name, logo, website design, source code, and all related trademarks and trade dress are the property of Looslee and its operators. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use our trademarks, branding, or proprietary materials without our express prior written consent.

Your Content

You retain all ownership rights in the files you upload. By uploading, you grant Looslee a temporary, limited, non-commercial licence solely to store and transmit your encrypted file for the purpose of providing the Service — and for no other purpose. This licence terminates automatically when the file is deleted.

Because encryption happens client-side and the decryption key never reaches our servers, Looslee is technically unable to access the contents of your files at any time.

10 Termination

Our Right to Terminate

Looslee reserves the right to suspend, restrict, or terminate any transfer, link, or access to the Service at any time, without notice, and without liability, including where we have reason to believe these Terms have been violated. We may also discontinue the Service entirely at our sole discretion.

Termination does not create any obligation on our part to refund any amount or provide any compensation, since the Service is currently provided free of charge.

Effect of Termination

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Any files you have uploaded may be deleted. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive — including indemnification, limitation of liability, and governing law — will continue to apply.

11 Storage and Data

No Storage Guarantee

Looslee does not guarantee that any file will be retained for its full intended duration. Files may be lost, corrupted, or become unavailable due to infrastructure failures, provider incidents, or other causes outside our control — including failures at the level of third-party cloud or object storage services.

Do not rely solely on Looslee to store or back up any file. Looslee is a transfer mechanism, not a file storage service. Always retain a local copy of anything important.

Automatic Deletion

Files are designed to be automatically deleted after a single download or after the chosen expiry window (whichever occurs first). While this is our design intent, technical failures could prevent or delay deletion. We make no guarantee that deletion will occur within any specific timeframe.

12 Security

Encryption Is Best-Effort

Looslee implements AES-256-GCM client-side encryption as a technical measure to protect file contents. This encryption is a best-effort security feature. It is not a legal guarantee of confidentiality or security. Encryption significantly reduces the risk of unauthorised access, but no system is 100% secure.

We cannot guarantee that our systems, or the third-party infrastructure we rely on, will never be compromised. If you share highly sensitive information that you cannot afford to have exposed under any circumstances, you should consider whether Looslee is the appropriate tool for that purpose.

Your Security Responsibilities

The security of your transfer link is your responsibility. Anyone who possesses the full transfer link (including the # fragment containing the encryption key) can download the file. Guard share links as you would any sensitive credential. Looslee cannot revoke access if a link is compromised before it is used.

13 Changes to Terms

We May Update These Terms

We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. When we do, we will update the "Effective date" at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after any revision constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to a change, you must stop using the Service.

For significant changes, we may take reasonable steps to notify users — such as a notice on the website — but we are not obligated to provide individual notification.

14 Governing Law

Jurisdiction and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or your use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in India.

If you are accessing the Service from outside India, you are responsible for compliance with any local laws that apply to you.

Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Looslee regarding the Service and supersede all prior understandings, agreements, representations, or warranties — whether written or oral — relating to the same subject matter.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that the remaining provisions of these Terms continue in full force and effect.

Waiver

Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that right or provision. Any waiver must be in writing and signed by Looslee to be effective.
