Privacy
Policy

We built Looslee to be private by design. Here is exactly what we collect, how we use it, and the limits of our responsibility.

Effective date: April 21, 2026
Information We Collect

01 Information We Collect

Looslee is designed to collect as little information as possible. We do not require you to create an account, provide an email address, or submit any personal information to use the service.

The only information that may be incidentally processed includes:

We do not collect your name, email address, payment information, location, device fingerprint, or any other personal identifier.

How We Use Information

02 How We Use Information

Any information incidentally collected is used solely to operate the service — specifically to route your upload to temporary storage, generate a unique share link, and serve the file to the recipient. It is used for no other purpose.

Standard server log entries may be retained for a short period to diagnose infrastructure issues and then automatically purged.

File Storage and Deletion

03 File Storage and Deletion

Files uploaded to Looslee are ephemeral by design. A file will be scheduled for deletion as soon as one of the following conditions is met:

Once deletion is triggered, we make best-effort attempts to remove the encrypted file data from our systems. However, we cannot guarantee that no residual copies exist on underlying infrastructure, including caches, backups, or storage systems operated by third-party providers.

Looslee does not guarantee permanent or irrecoverable deletion. If your use case requires certified data destruction, Looslee is not an appropriate tool.

We do not operate a backup system that retains file contents beyond the stated retention windows. Files are treated as transient data and are not archived.

Each transfer session supports a maximum of 10 GB of data. This limit exists to ensure fair access for all users and the reliability of the service.

Encryption Notice

04 Encryption Notice

Looslee applies client-side encryption before transmitting your file. The encryption key is embedded in the share link and is never sent to our servers. This means no employee, no administrator, and no third party with access to our infrastructure can read your file.

Encryption is provided on an "as-is" basis. While we implement recognised cryptographic standards, we make no warranty — express or implied — that the encryption is unbreakable, free from implementation defects, or suitable for any particular security requirement.

User Responsibilities

05 User Responsibilities

You are solely and exclusively responsible for any file you upload to Looslee. By using this service you represent and warrant that:

Looslee operates as a passive conduit for encrypted data. Because file contents are encrypted before upload and we possess no decryption key, we have no practical ability to inspect or moderate file contents.

Looslee accepts no liability whatsoever for the nature, legality, or consequences of any file uploaded or downloaded through the service. Any legal liability arising from the content of shared files rests entirely and solely with the user who uploaded them.

Using Looslee to share illegal content is strictly prohibited. We will cooperate fully with lawful requests from law enforcement authorities.

Third-Party Services

06 Third-Party Services

Looslee relies on third-party infrastructure providers to store and serve encrypted file data, host the application, and deliver web assets. We do not disclose any specific provider by name as our infrastructure may change over time.

These providers may process encrypted file data, IP addresses, or technical metadata as part of normal network operations. Their data handling is governed by their own privacy policies and terms of service, over which Looslee has no control.

Looslee is not responsible for the privacy practices, data handling, security measures, availability, or actions of any third-party provider. We make no representation that such providers will meet any particular security or privacy standard.

In the event that a third-party provider suffers a data breach, outage, data loss, or other failure, Looslee shall bear no liability for any resulting harm to users.

Cookies

07 Cookies

Looslee does not use cookies for tracking, analytics, advertising, or personalisation. No third-party tracking scripts, no pixel tags, no fingerprinting libraries, and no advertising networks are embedded in this service.

Your browser may store session-related data locally (such as items in sessionStorage) solely to facilitate the file transfer process for the duration of your browser session. This data is cleared when you close your browser tab and is never transmitted to our servers or any third party.

No Warranty

08 No Warranty

Looslee is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We expressly disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to:

The service may be modified, suspended, or discontinued at any time, with or without notice, and without any obligation to users. We shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the service.

Limitation of Liability

09 Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Looslee and its operators shall not be liable for any damages arising out of or in connection with your use of this service, including but not limited to:

Your sole remedy in the event of dissatisfaction with the service is to discontinue its use. In no event shall our aggregate liability to you exceed zero (£0), as the service is provided free of charge.

Do not use Looslee to share files you cannot afford to lose. We make no guarantees of delivery or retention.

Changes to This Policy

10 Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy at any time. When we do, the "Effective date" at the top of this page will be updated accordingly. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.

Continued use of Looslee after any changes to this policy constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy. If you do not agree with the revised policy, you should discontinue use of the service.

We will not provide individual notice of changes via email or other communication channels, as Looslee does not collect contact information from users.
